Meet on Wednesdays
7:00-8:00 pm

Director: Teresa Clary

Teachers: Angie Sprinkle, Diane Thompson, Amanda Rogers & April Kelley

Girls in Action (GAs) is a WMU (Women's Missionary Union) missions organization.  GAs can help the girls begin to develop spiritually towards a missions lifestyle as they learn what God is doing in the world and discover their place in God's plan.

In GA, girls:

GA Scripture Verse: "Give thanks to the Lord. Worship him. Tell the nations what he has done. Announce how honored he is" (Isaiah 12:4 NIV).

GA Lifestyle Verse: "The Lord has shown you what is good. He has told you what he requires of you. You must treat people fairly. You must love others faithfully. And you must be very careful to live the way your God wants you to" (Micah 6:8 NIV).

GA Motto: “Go Forward!”

GA Pledge: "As a GA, I will do my best to live a missions lifestyle that honors God by learning about missions, praying for missions, giving to missions, doing missions and participating in the work of the church."

Special GA Activities
Besides the fun of weekly meetings, the girls take part in lots of special activities.  See examples below:

GA Camp
-  Camp is an annual summer event where they learn more about missions, study the Bible, have fun, swim, do crafts, have fun, visit the Snack Shack and Gift Shop, and deepen their relationship with God.  As they learn to share Jesus with others in their daily lives, some of the girls, who have not done so already, ask Jesus to be their personal Lord and Savior.

Christmas in August - The girls collect donations from the church family in order to send a box of needed (requested) items to a missionary.

Help with canned food collection for community faith-based organization.

Angel Tree - The GAs wrap gifts that the church members purchase for children.

Meet missionaries - Learn about them each week and meet some "real, live missionaries" at different times in the church year.

Earn Badges - Throughout the year, the Girls in Action work on different mission projects which qualify them to earn badges.
